A heavy, sculptural piece that is inspired by my lifelong love of ancient Egyptian funerary customs. Because a scarab beetle was thought to roll the sun across the sky every day, the Egyptians associated it with the cycle of death & rebirth. It was used commonly in funerary jewelry.
Cast in solid sterling silver on a 16" heavy, patterned sterling chain. Scarab measures 7/16" wide by 5/8" long.
